Freedom in the Process - This week we examine one of the most loved verses in all of Scripture, Romans 8:28-30. The promise of all things working together for good is a powerful one that Christians continue to run to in times of trouble. However, is it possible to miss the depth and beauty of what Paul is really getting at? What is the "good" that God works for us in all things? Let’s explore how meaningful this verse is for those who love God.
Have you ever been faced with a situation in which you had no idea how to pray? We all know that prayer is important and powerful, but sometimes we are just at a loss for words due to the intensity of our circumstances. What do we do in those moments? Last week we saw that we have a great hope in the future glory yet to be revealed, but is there some sort of present help for us in the meantime? Here we dive into Romans 8:26-27 and find Paul's answer to those questions.
Freedom in Struggle - Is our suffering meaningless? Every one of us to some degree or another can feel the effects of the fall on our world and in our lives. We long for things to be different - to get better. Do we really have any hope to hold on to? Can we find freedom in the midst of our pain? Paul seems to think so. We will find his answer to these questions as we dive into Romans 8:18-25 together.
Free to Be Called Sons & Daughters - Dive into the amazing truth that we are children of God. If you have ever doubted your salvation or wondered how you can know you are God’s child, this passage gives specific ways on how you can know this. Last week we discovered we are free from condemnation, and this week we will discover we are free to be sons and daughters of our Abba, Father.
Free from Condemnation - Romans chapter 8 is one of the most exciting chapters in all of Scripture because it shows us what the Gospel looks like in the life of a follower of Jesus. This chapter will help us remind us of truth when our world crashes and the lies creep in. Here we see what it means that there is no condemnation for the believer and how the Spirit enables us to live worthy of the Gospel. This is a message for those weary of living life on their own and those frustrated with trying to earn God's favor. If you've ever felt restricted or imprisoned by the Law, you'll find true freedom in these truths as you set your mind on the Spirit and live with resurrection power.
